Weber Housing Authority announces rental assistance program

Weber Housing Authority has announced the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program to help households with maintaining current living situations and avoiding evictions due to financial hardship as a result of COVID-19. The assistance will be available to households that have experienced financial hardship and have applied for and been denied Unemployment Benefits.

“We are very concerned about the welfare of our county residents during this difficult time,” stated Weber County Commissioner Gage Froerer. “The purpose of the Rental Assistance Program is to help those who have nowhere else to go, those who have exhausted all other resources and need help”

Assistance is available to all Weber County residents outside of Ogden, which has its own program.

Those looking to apply for the program must meet the following requirements:

Payments will not exceed $1,500 per household and will be paid directly to the landlord or management agency. Assistance is on a first come, first serve basis and will only be offered once per household.
